Soo.....school sucked last week. First off, I got lost numerous amount of times, which is kind of sad because its not really a big campus. Not to mention the many back to back classes with no break between them, hence, a very hungry and irritated Annabelle at the end of the day. I'm already having trouble understanding math and my media class is a bit too advanced for me to understand...but that's nothing new. And I missed two weeks Philosophy class simply because of time and room changes...AHHHHH!!!! lol. Hopefully this coming week will be much better. Luckily I got to end it with a birthday celebration of two of the other international students', Peter and Isabel's, birthday party which was really fun. Everybody got to see my dance moves to the cupid shuffle and complemented me on it, little do they know they haven't seen anything yet ;) They all went out to the club later, but of course my boring self went home to go sleep to prepare for the next day, I did wake up at 7am to get ready for school however.
Yesterday I wen't to Dublin with Sunny and two of his female friends, one of which was pregnant, to a baby shower in her honor. The drive to Dublin was fairly long, but it gave me a chance to take a much needed nap in the car, but of course, Sunny wouldn't let me sleep and decided it was okay to start calling me by my African name to wake me up. Lol. Anyway, the party was fun. I learned a lot more about pregnancy than I probably wanted to, and the food was banging of course. Shortly after arriving (and eating real African food since I arrived to Ireland), Sunny and a friend of his left for a tour in the city. IT WAS AWESOME!! I loved walking through Dublin, it was the hub of Irish culture and it looked much like NYC. I took some pictures, of very poor quality, on my American cell phone of the Guinness factory, their "Supreme Court", and this peninsula looking thingy (I really need a digital camera). I even bought myself an Irish flag to hang on my wall and take home. Sadly we only walked around for about an hour, so hopefully I'll get another chance to go back and really see some sights. Afterwards, I went to a pub and drank some apple cider beer, which was really good considering I don't really like beer, but this might be the exception.
Today was an interesting day because, for the first time, my German friend Lena got to experience church outside the catholic religion after inviting her to come with me to Sunny's church with me. She loved it! Praise God. I also gave her a list of artists to listen to since she told me that they don't have Contemporary christian music in Germany! You can imagine my surprise, even in 2012 the work of the Lord has yet to be fulfilled, even in places around the world where we think they are "well off". For this reason, she wants to come to America to be able to fully embrace Christianity and no longer practice religion. It's a scary thought when you find out how good you have it when you see things from someone else's point of view.
Anyway, its time for me to study for my classes tomorrow (dreading it...), until next time folks! :)
Sounds great! I think I'll make it to Dublin one day. Believe it or not, it's where my last name is from. Chalk it up to European imperialism, but that's another story for another day.
ReplyDeleteI'm no beer-drinker either, but I'll have to see if that apple cider version does the trick.
Enjoy!
Glad you are enjoying yourself!!! What's your African name?? Andddddd tell Sunny to let you sleep lol! You have to be very direct with him sometimes lol but of course you know that!
